GTA campaign - LessStressMoreHappy.com - to increase awareness of how Employee and Family Assistance Programs can help

Well over one million employees and their family members in the GTA are covered by their Employee and Family Assistance Program, 24/7 professional counselling and support to help with work and life challenges.

TORONTO, Sept. 24, 2013 /CNW/ - Morneau Shepell (TSX: MSI), under its Shepell•fgi brand, today launched an advertising campaign in the Greater Toronto Area to increase awareness of how Employee and Family Assistance Programs (EFAPs) can help with family, financial and career issues.

The campaign highlights three of the most common sources of stress - kids, work and bills, along with a website address (www.LessStressMoreHappy.com), and a toll-free number (1-855-369-9477) the general public can call.

During the campaign, the company's care access centres will respond to anyone calling its toll-free line for support with bills, work or kids. Service representatives are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Individuals not covered by their employer's EFAP will be given an information kit, which includes helpful resources and a list of organizations that can provide further support.

"The purpose of the campaign is to heighten awareness of the effectiveness of an EFAP," said Stephen Liptrap, Executive Vice-President, Morneau Shepell and General Manager, Shepell•fgi. "Based on our knowledge of all the stresses we face today in general, it's highly likely there are many of us who could benefit from the help of an EFAP and we may not be using the services we already have."

Liptrap adds, "As the pioneer and leader of the EFAP in Canada, our job is to help employees with the increasing stresses and difficulties of modern, everyday life.  If we can help them with the issues they face in all areas of their life, they will be better able to focus on work when they're at work and be more productive as a result. It's a win-win for the employee and their employer."

The campaign is targeting commuters, in general, through print ads in the free Metro paper, on TTC subway platform billboards and on select screens in downtown elevators. The campaign is scheduled to run from September 24 until October 14.

All information shared by callers remains completely confidential and is never released to an employer.  The information is collected to provide general data to help the EFAP provider understand the needs of its users in order to provide the best most relevant service possible.
