VANCOUVER, Sept. 17, 2013 /CNW/ - Morneau Shepell Inc. is holding a complimentary breakfast seminar in Vancouver September 18, 2013, to present the results of its Compensation Trends & Projections Survey for 2014.

Among the findings of this year's survey:

  • 43% of Canadian employers in the survey point to costs as the most important pension issue they need to address in 2014.
  • This figure rises to 67% for respondents with defined benefit pension plans. Half of these respondents have in fact taken concrete measures over the last 2 years to reduce their pension costs.
  • For Canadian employers with defined contribution plans, roughly 20% are planning to offer investment education to their plan members and a similar figure plan to review the investment options they offer.

These are just a few of the findings of Morneau Shepell's 31st annual Compensation survey, which was conducted between mid-June and mid-August 2013, with input from more than 300 organizations employing nearly three million people.
