Morneau Shepell and the Association des restaurateurs du Québec combine forces to support restaurant owners

Voluntary retirement savings plan and other human resources services now available to the province's restaurant employers and employees

MONTREAL, Sept. 15, 2015 /CNW/ - Morneau Shepell and the Association des restaurateurs du Québec (ARQ) are pleased to announce they have signed a new partnership agreement to support employers and workers in the province's restaurant industry. Under the new agreement, ARQ members will have access to a voluntary retirement savings plan (VRSP) and an employee assistance plan for their employees and family members. Other support services for human resources management will also be offered.

"Morneau Shepell is delighted to expand its partnership with ARQ and offer restaurant managers a range of services designed to improve the financial security, productivity and health of their employees. We are convinced that the added value these services provide will enhance the well-being of restaurant staff," said Julien Ponce, Executive Vice-President of Morneau Shepell.

For Alain Mailhot, CEO of the ARQ, this announcement is good news for Québec restaurant owners. "The industry will be facing significant workforce challenges in the years ahead and this offering concretely addresses the concerns of restaurant employers, especially when it comes to retaining personnel."

Note that gradually, over the next few years, all Québec businesses with five or more employees will be required to offer their workforce a VRSP. For more information about the plan offered by Morneau Shepell and ARQ, visit http://prpp.morneaushepell.com/arq/home.

Morneau Shepell has a strong presence in Québec and has been partnering with ARQ in occupational health and safety since 2001.
