Morneau Shepell opens crisis line to support those affected by California wildfires

Company’s 24/7 free crisis hotline available now to those in need: 1.866.885.6540

SAN DIEGO, August 14, 2018 - As a result of the devastating wildfires blazing through southern California, Morneau Shepell has opened its 24/7 crisis support hotline to help anyone affected by the natural disaster.

“Our sympathies are with all of the communities that have been affected by the California wildfires and the residents that have been displaced from their homes as a result of the destruction,” said Stephen Liptrap, president and chief executive officer. “The fire has grown to become the largest fires recorded in the state since 2000, resulting in eight deaths and burning more than a thousand homes. We’re inspired by the resiliency and courage displayed by residents and the thousands of firefighters trying to contain the blaze and we are here to provide support to those looking to understand the impact of this tragic event.”

A crisis or traumatic event can trigger overwhelming emotional responses that have a lasting impact on communities. Morneau Shepell’s national 24/7 crisis support line offers professional emotional support to anyone in crisis. When calling the crisis line, individuals receive crisis counseling support and/or referral to community resources. Anyone affected by the wildfires in California can reach the free crisis support line at 1.866.885.6540.
