Modern slavery statement
This Modern Slavery Statement (“Statement”) was adopted by the board of directors of LifeWorks effective May 2, 2022.
LifeWorks, its subsidiaries and its affiliates (collectively, “LifeWorks”) believes in conducting business with honesty, fairness and according to the highest ethical standards. This Statement embodies these core values and reflects LifeWorks commitment to operate with the highest level of integrity. As part of this commitment, LifeWorks requires our business partners and suppliers to share in these same core values and business practices
We are committed to respecting human rights. This Statement sets forth LifeWorks activities to address modern slavery in all its forms including forced labour, human trafficking, slavery and servitude, debt bondage, child labor, and deceptive recruiting for labour or other services (collectively, “Modern Slavery”). LifeWorks will not tolerate Modern Slavery in its labour force or supply chains.
Organisation’s Structure, Business and Supply Chains
LifeWorks is a global professional services company that delivers technology-enabled solutions that help clients support the total wellbeing of their people and build organizational resiliency with services provided in more than 160 countries. LifeWorks solutions span employee and family assistance, health and wellness, recognition, pension and benefits administration, retirement and financial consulting, actuarial and investment services. Given the nature of the LifeWorks business and the products and services provided, combined with the countries where LifeWorks operates, there is little to no risk of Modern Slavery among our employee and contractor workforce and supply chains. Nevertheless, we remain diligent.
Policies and Vendor Risk Management
LifeWorks policies and vendor risk management program reflect its commitment against Modern
LifeWorks requires all employees to certify compliance with LifeWorks Code of Business Conduct and Ethics (“Code”) on an annual basis. The Code sets out basic principles to guide those who work for the company including without limitation human rights laws, discrimination and harassment; health and safety laws; and professional and industry standards. The Code prohibits taking unfair advantage of anyone through illegal conduct, manipulation, concealment, abuse of confidential or proprietary information, misrepresentation of material facts or any other intentional unfair-dealing practice. Further, the Code provides a reporting mechanism for actual, potential, or suspected violations. All employees are required to undergo training on components of the Code on an annual basis.
LifeWorks engages in responsible procurement across its value chain through its Supplier Code of Conduct (“Supplier Code”) and global vendor risk management program. The Supplier Code sets out basic principles to guide suppliers to LifeWorks including without limitation adherence to human rights laws and a prohibition of child labour and forced labour. LifeWorks requires all suppliers in every country where LifeWorks conducts business to adhere to the Supplier Code which sets out the principles, standards and behaviours our suppliers must follow. Oversight and due diligence are managed through LifeWorks vendor risk management program. In the event of material non-compliance, LifeWorks may void or terminate contractual obligations with the Supplier.
LifeWorks is a supporter of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), including the Global Compact’s Ten Principles, underscoring its commitment to uphold and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights, including the freedom from Modern Slavery. LifeWorks commitments are entrenched in the LifeWorks Human Rights Policy and support of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
